Introducing something very special. Writer and performer Ian Pearce, in a dramatic reading, recreates the events that followed the accident. In those dark and traumatic weeks, we begin to understand how a young man in the glare of media publicity begins to reconstruct his life with the support of his family, and the friendship of his fellow band members.
Don Powell is a supporter of Headway East London which is a non-profit organisation that supports people living with brain injury, providing day service, neurological therapies, community support and casework.

Recently Don visited the centre and said afterward, “I was up at 07:00. Cleaned up, had breakfast and made my way to ‘HEADWAY’ a centre for people who have suffered brain injuries. I have the same, caused by my car accident in 1973. What a FANTASTIC job these people do. Being there made me feel SO humble. They had a snare drum there and all the patients and care workers and I played ‘Merry Xmas Everybody’!”
“I was there with Ian Pearce who has done such a BRILLIANT job writing and performing the audio play ‘Wonderin’ Y’ that tells the story of my crash. We all had a delicious sausage and mash lunch. WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY, I will be doing more volunteer work for them”, said Don.
